Melinda Macdonald

I'm Melinda MacDonald, a Canadian self taught artist, focusing on semi abstract landscapes and florals. I began my painting career approximately 7 years ago after a health crises and realized I had put off making art long enough. I began to take some local workshops and classes and soaked up everything I could to immerse myself in creating. I haven't looked back. If I'm not painting, I'm reading about painting, dreaming about painting, or planning my next piece. Although I began with oil paints I have found myself increasingly using them in combination with cold wax or creating work using acrylic paint with mixed media, both allowing me to create visual interest with texture and expressive brush strokes. I've begun to show my process on my YouTube Channel, Melinda By The Sea.

Although mainly self taught, I have taken various workshops and classes both in person and online.
