RECOGNITION

Meta Šolar graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana in 2014. She focuses on figurative art, drawing inspiration from natural sciences, mysticism, and art history. Her acrylic and oil paintings often merge layers of interwoven images, inviting viewers to uncover hidden messages.

She has participated in numerous international group exhibitions, including those in London, Italy, and Japan. She has held over twenty solo exhibitions, including at the Korotan Gallery in Vienna. In 2016, she was an artist-in-residence at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.

For her work, she has received several awards, including the Jury Award at ArtOlympia in Tokyo (2019) and the Kras Society Award at Eks-tempore Kras (2023). She lives and creates in Radovljica.
