Jorge R. Gutiérrez (born January 1975) is a Mexican painter, writer and director who created (with wife and muse Sandra Equihua) the multiple Emmy Award-winning animated television series, "El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera" for Nickelodeon, directed "The Book of Life", which was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film. Most recently Gutiérrez created the Emmy winning series "Maya and the Three" for Netflix.
