Michael Slatkine

I am a painter and doctor in physics who shares his time between painting and science. The colorfulness and light in my paintings drew on my childhood in East Africa. In recent years I have developed a Digital Free Hand Drawing technique using a smart phone screen. For the past two years, my smart phone has been used to document six cities around Israel through 600 drawings.

I have spent a few years in the studio of Hagit Shahal, One of the most prominent portraitist in Israel.

My Ph.D in physics is from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel. My post doctorate work was performed in Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico, USA.

I have recently published a book " Secular and Holy in Line and Color - a Drawing Journey Across the Length and Breadth of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv - Yaffo ". This book published by the Bauhaus Center in Tel Aviv is sold in all major museums in Israel.

I took part in many exhibitions which displayed urban sketching art.
