Mike Hedrick

Hi! Mike here. I’m a professional tattoo artist. I own two studios in Colorado, but I frequently travel to tattoo around the world. Chamonix and Banff have become second homes for me.

After (or many times before) work hours, I spend time drawing plein air sketches and working on large scale acrylic paintings. I find many similarities between my tattoo work and visual art, and my paintings have become largely influenced by my career. My style is bold and illustrative, with heavier line weight as a common element.

Whatever I’m working on, I’m likely sipping a coffee. Always black.

I dabbled in biology and graphic design before graduating with an B.A. in exercise science from Shepherd University, just outside my hometown of D.C.

Other than a few art classes in college, I would say that I am mostly self taught, although my career as a tattoo artist continues to greatly refine my creative work.
