Mila Aleksić

I live and work in Sombor, Serbia. I've been painting for about 10 years, and in this time I've been active in various art collectives and workshops. In my evolution as an artist there was a gradual change from realistic images, mostly expressive portraits of people, towards abstract painting. In both portraits and abstract paintings I find that I can express my intention best using a monochromatic palette of black & white. Through my work I am questioning and playing with different notions of existence, and I am exploring those aspects using a vast array of themes, from the deeply personal ones to the ones that are more universal, concerning the current world affairs. My art is therefore naturally in a constant state of evolution because I as a person constantly evolve and in the same time the world around me constantly changes as well.

Was a part of group exhibition "Somborski salon" and exhibition in art studio "Vincent" in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
