RECOGNITION

I am a Cuban born photographer, graphic designer and art teacher. I live and work in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.
My recurring practice are photography and artist books.
I have been interested on some topics in recent years like:
- Explore the relationship between visual and literary metaphors thru photography, literature and editorial design.
- Work on the relationship of simultaneity between spaces and objects with two photographs in a diptych, one referential, the other symbolic; creating a tense narrative, of unlikely simultaneity.
- Photograph about the institutions in which my generation grew up in Cuba, where I reflect on identity, loss, migration, myth and utopia.
- Explore the everyday and the “infraordinary” as ways to grab the world.

Graduated from the Master's Degree in Production and Teaching of Visual Arts at Escuela Superior de Artes de Yucatán-ESAY (2019) and of Engineering in Automated Management Systems of the Instituto Superior Politécnico de La Habana-CUJAE (1988).

I had participated in multiple solo and group exhibitions in Mexico and abroad and my work is part of public collections in Cuba, the United States and Mexico.
