Julia Brinkfrau is a contemporary artist based in Berlin. She creates bold, emotional works that move between abstraction, figuration, and expression. Her art is known for its vibrant colors, powerful female portraits, and intuitive compositions.
She paints on canvas, paper, and fabric – often using a mix of acrylics, oil sticks, and raw textures. Her creative process is spontaneous and emotional: color comes first, then form follows. Each piece becomes a visual exploration of inner states – joy, struggle, sensuality, or transformation.
Brinkfrau’s recurring themes include female identity, emotion as energy, and the tension between chaos and harmony. Her work is influenced by street art, outsider art, and modern expressionism. Whether abstract or figurative, her paintings always carry a pulse – they are not meant to be decoded, but felt.
She believes that art should be alive, imperfect, and human – something that speaks directly to the viewer without needing translation Her artworks are in privat collections in Europe, America and Asia.
