Mustafa Özay

Ozay’s artistic practice is rooted in an exploration of texture and form, as he experiments with diverse surfaces to push the boundaries of visual and tactile perception. His primary mediums are oil and acrylic paints, though his body of work also incorporates digital prints and a range of unconventional materials, reflecting his commitment to interdisciplinary approaches.

In his recent works, He merges dynamic visual effects with intricately layered compositions that invite deeper interpretation. These compositions often embody a dialogue between abstraction and narrative, offering viewers a space to engage with both emotional resonance and thoughtful exploration. His use of texture, color, and form creates an optical illusion of depth and space, blurring the line between two-dimensional and three-dimensional perception.

His work strives to evoke a visceral response, drawing the viewer into a contemplative experience that oscillates between the seen and the felt. By weaving symbolic undertones with bold, energetic forms, he challenges traditional notions of representation, making his art a reflection of the complexities and nuances of contemporary visual culture.

2024 – Graduated with a Master’s Degree from the Basic Art and Design Department, Fine Arts Institute, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Istanbul, Turkey.
2012 – Earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Art Education, Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey.
2010 – Awarded an Erasmus Programme scholarship by the Center for European Union Education and Youth Programmes to study at Accademia di Belle Arti L’Aquila, L’Aquila, Italy.
