Natasha Chilingirova

I studied Fine art at "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" University of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. In 2001 I obtained my master degree in painting with the speciality of Pedagogic of Fine Art.
In 2003 I have completed an extra mural course of education for acquiring additional professional training in the speciality of Painting. My mentor was Professor Nicolai Ruschukliev.
I thoroughly enjoy painting landscapes, interiors, still-life, figures and portraits. The oil impasto technique, provoke me to build a thick texture, often using a palette knife or finger strokes. Because of the vibrant and bold colours I use, a great part of the forms appear semi-abstract, less defined and expressive, until observed from a distance. With the portraits, I prefer to explore a more precise, realistic approach, as it helps me to reach the character of the model.
