Nick Bond

I was born on the 24th of June 1980. Shortly after leaving university in 2003 I did a few odd jobs around my freelance artwork. I now fit my artwork around working as a fulltime primary school teacher.

I take my inspirations from the experiences I have in life that touch me emotionally. That can be the effect of romantic love or the awe inspiring landscape of nature. In the past I have touched on darker aspects of my own fears and anxieties.
I express these inspirations in paint or charcoal. I'm attracted to these mediums for there malable nature and the effect physical light has on the viscarity of it. Tone and colour are also important to me, I like to explore their intensity as much as I can so that my pictures have a slight 'other worldly feeling to them which connects to my main aim of creating figurative based images from abstract emotions.

I trained at the Ashford School of Art (formally the University of Kent) particpating in various group exhibitions in East Kent and France. During my training period I won the accolade of best student in 2000 as well as best overall art student accross campus in 2001. My work has been highly commended in various regional shows.,
