Nicholas Emery

I was born in the city of Port of Spain in the southernmost Caribbean island nation of Trinidad and Tobago in the West Indies, and grew up in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and European regions. I have citizenship from the United States and Trinidad and Tobago. I am of Celtic, old English, and Lebanese descent.

As an artist my intent is for my audience to have experiences that are similar to how I perceive the world, intuitively rather than through word and thought. I make work that tends to include the interwoven threads of land, loss, beauty, and emotional alchemy.

Currently my mountain studio, studio 8280, is near the Indian Peaks Wilderness west of Denver, Colorado.

Graduated with an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts
