Nomen Dubius

Nomen - The Nomen Art (1974) was born in the streets. A pioneer of graffiti in Portugal, the autodidact artist’s visual universe has consolidated on several forms and registers since he started interacting with the urban area in 1989 - from the first illegal incursions on walls and trains to the developed work on canvas and wall paintings in big scale to exhibitions and institutions. Versatile and prolific, the self-called “style swinger” is recognised by his mastery of balance between forms and colours, whether it is on the elaborate typographic constructions where he invests his unique dinamic or on the photo-realistic portraits and composition where the cleansing of the elements is explored. His artwork has been presented on several exhibitions, events and artistic productions in Portugal and aboad.
