Fanny Nushka

I was born in 1983 in Lille, France and now live in Marseille, in the south of France. Here, I practice figurative painting, focusing predominantly on the female body.

American painter Maggie Siner gave me my first painting lessons when I was a teenager. Since then, I've always painted, even during my time as a student and my time as a busy contemporary art gallery manager. In 2014, I decided to dedicate myself to painting. I am now a happy, self-taught and full-time painter.

I studied international relations at Science Po (a political science school) and economics at HEC Paris. Meanwhile, I learned painting under the guidance of several painters, including Hashpa, Zawacky, and, of course, Maggie Siner.

As a figurative painter, my inspiration comes from aesthetics, beauty, and women. I predominantly explore the female body in all its forms: faces, busts, and fragments. Narrative takes a backseat in my work, as I focus on abstract structures, diagonals, and verticals. Perspective lines serve as the backbone of my models.

I play with contrasts—sensitive, sensual, timeless topics with vivid, dynamic, and contemporary brushstrokes
