The relationships we build throughout our lives define us. Our identity, who we are, is ultimately the sum of the relationships in our past. The memories of the people around us morph and deconstruct, which in turn changes that identity. Our memories are always changing. They are imperfect. They are familiar and unfamiliar and as a result we are disoriented by the differences between our memories and reality.
