My name is Ritu and I am from India.
My work explores quiet strength, presence, and resilience through animal forms. I am drawn to moments where power exists without aggression—where stillness speaks louder than movement. Animals, for me, are not symbols to be decorated but beings to be observed, respected, and felt.
Working primarily with expressive realism, I allow visible brushstrokes and layered color to remain part of the narrative. These marks reflect process, time, and intention—reminding the viewer that growth is rarely linear. I often leave edges unresolved, inviting the eye to complete the form, just as we complete meaning through our own experiences.
Each piece is built through observation and intuition rather than replication. I am less interested in photographic accuracy and more in capturing presence—the gaze, the pause, the unspoken emotion that exists between the subject and the viewer. My palette tends toward earthy, natural tones, grounding the work in a sense of familiarity and calm.
