Paulette Mckoy

I am self-taught artist, born in Manchester, moved to London in the late nighties after graduating in Fashion Design. After a career in fashion/retail and the arts, in 2001, I began to build my practice in abstract art, with every spare waking moment I had…

My work is filled with explosions of colour, texture, fluidity and movement which is reminiscent of my career experiences in fashion and dance. Music provides an element of stimulation to her work and motivates me to capture that spiritual essence within me that can also be felt in my work. Music inspires me to express myself with freedom and energy; it manifests itself into exciting forms on the canvas.

This has led to me producing works which have been showcased in many solo and group exhibitions in galleries and art spaces in London and other parts of the UK over the past 10 years. My work has also been featured at the Royal Academy of Dance, celebrating the Faculty of Education’s 10th anniversary and I continue to exhibit my work and I’m regularly commissioned to enhance the look and feel of homes and work spaces around the U.K. and abroad.
