My paintings and drawings suggest the nature of intimacy, community, transition, circumstance, process and progression. They depict life/forms, disparate and transient, that form societies constantly shifting and changing, combining to create fleeting moments of recognisable subjects and meaning. That which animates (spacial relationships, rhythm) is as important as that which is animated (subject)

The materials I use have often been gathered in the same vein. I come across some old dried-up tubes of gouache, museumboard cut-offs out of a skip from the picture framer down the street, pencils in varied states of use, etc., and rejuvenate them to create these works.
