From the series "Massa Confusa". An alchemic work on matter and its representation, in between sculpture and image, tridimensionality and flatness, and in more generic terms, a hint to the response of the masses to collective experiences of traumatic nature.

Paolo Adel Danese is a contemporary artist born in 1983. He uses different expression modalities, including drawing, graphic arts, illustration, painting, lecture/performance, infographics, artist’s book, djing and vjing as a form of spiritual and artistic research. According to american artist Paul Laffoley, “The final phase of modernism in the western world began with the year 2000 A.D. and was consummated by September 11, 2001, and will continue for the next one hundred years”. His term for this period is the “Bauharoque“. “It combined the heroic modernism of the German Bauhaus, with the aspiration toward a technological utopia, and the exalted theatricality of the italian baroque, in which an exuberance of form and illusion serve to express the mystical union of art and life.” In his last series of paintings, Paolo has been interested in how to recreate on a static painting the energy that permeate the universe before it comes to manifestation as matter. He discovered that Orgone theory by Wilhelm Reich describes energy in a very similar way as he painted it, as a spiral movement that moves forward. Having been guided by hand gestures that mimics this movement, he shaped the forms in these series of paintings, as a way to channel this invisible movement that is at the base of all life. Reich called it "Cosmic Orgonic Energy".
