My Korean cultural heritage, which I remember in the form of folk tales, has been the reason why I paint. Childhood memories that are seemingly distant yet embedded in the layers of my conscience enable me to have respect for the simplest morals in life - discovering wisdom from storytelling, which qualifies in itself as beautiful art. While my artwork is established from a foreign cultural point of view, it speaks to the audience through its comprehensible forms and illustration methods. Artwork that speaks to people with different backgrounds, that is what I paint. After all, painting is storytelling.
