Onder Ozgenc

Onder Ozgenc was born in 1994 in Bursa, Turkey. His interest in visual storytelling revealed itself during childhood, as he created a personal space through drawing in an atmosphere shaped by solitude, inquiry, and imagination. In 2016, he entered one of Turkey’s most prestigious faculties of fine arts with honors, marking the beginning of his academic journey in painting. There, he not only gained technical skill and artistic discipline but also discovered that art could serve as a multilayered expression of identity.

His academic journey deepened with a master’s thesis completed in 2021, titled “The Representation of the Father Role in the Context of Social Realism in Contemporary Turkish Painting Art.” This work was a reflection of his intellectual tendency to intersect the personal with the societal. The thesis provided critical readings not only of the figure of the father but also of power, belonging, gender roles, and systemic pressure.

Ozgenc's early artistic practice was shaped by realism and surrealism, but over time evolved into a more introspective and bold visual language. His practice spans a broad technical spectrum, from figurative to abstract, oil painting and acrylic to digital, from minimalist line work to vibr...
