Rachel Havel

I am an artist and photographer inspired by the richness, depth, and history of encaustic painting. My work is intuitive and experimental, allowing the medium to guide me as I explore layers of texture, translucency, and emotion.

Photography led me to encaustic painting and watercolor, where I found new ways to express the fleeting nature of light and memory. Rooted in abstract expression and minimalism, my art is deeply influenced by the ocean’s serenity, quiet strength, and shifting beauty. The colors, textures, and movement of the coast shape my approach, creating pieces that evoke introspection, peace, and emotional depth.
