"Raffaello Eroico's work stems from his professional experiences in graphic design, photography, and industrial design. The language he developed in practicing these disciplines has been transposed into a purely artistic research framework, aiming to renew tradition with a contemporary perspective by surpassing conceptual approaches. His approach focuses on radical elements and is restricted to the elementary means of drawing and painting.
His practice places figuration at the center, allowing him to interpret the classical heritage in an original and contemporary manner, particularly influenced by Baroque painting due to his Neapolitan origins. His works are distinguished by their power and the instinct of decisive gestures, as well as by a vibrant material, decidedly expressionist. However, this energy is expressed in a tempered chromatic harmony, structured by a composition rigor inspired by the practice of photographic framing.

After training as a graphic designer first, then working 10 years as a photographer, I started my research randomly throughout the contemporary art’s overview. Together with the practice of graphic, photography and design, I focused on painting as the ultimate media,
Since 2004 inspired by the painterly language of the baroque age (probably due to the influence of my Neapolitan roots), I’m committed to a researched balance between traditional, modern and contemporary values.
