Rashad Mehdiyev was born in 1968 in the family of artists. After the graduation of school, he continued his education at the College of Art. Soviet period was hard for Rashad and for artists in general, continuous persecutions in art, “soviet realism” , didn’t give the chance to reveal. After the graduation of College of Art, he moved to Moscow, but the difference on point of views prevented him on further study there. Upon his return to Azerbaijan he entered the University of Art , but it coincide with the difficult period of the young republic - Soviet army entered the country and killed hundreds of civils. In 1991 he decided to continue the study at Istanbul University of Fine Arts. From that period he started the scientific researches, studies of astronomy, research on Persian and Azerbaijanian Culture that reflected on his artworks. On his account more than 20 solo exhibitions all around the world and participation on several international symposiums and festivals.
