My painting practice is an organic process. Figurative in derivation, yet abstract in approach. Resulting as ephemeral expressions, informed through experience and serendipitous experiment. Paint responds best when it is liberated, helping my work to stray from initial conception and remain vital. A painting needs to get lost before it can be found. A process of rebirth. Through manipulation, layering and excavation, the journey remains present, providing traces of its former origins.
