Victor Ribas conceived of using laser lighting to create works of art
back in the Soviet era yet.
Back then, for the first time, he saw a source of laser light that was unusual . He found how to make photo masterpieces without natural or artificial light, but in full darkness with non-conventional laser lighting. Linear fractal portraits, as the author names his artworks, visually consist of multiple tracks which laser rays doing on the surface of an object, outlining the relief and helping to display its shape that is created only in our visual perception. Looking at the photos, we can see the essence of things and people and easily understand the person, their occupation and abilities. This technique produces precise and impressive results.
