My work is a formal exploration of the 'language' of abstraction, whereby the various marks (drips, stains, brush strokes, etc) normally associated with spontaneous painterly action are performed off-site and re-presented in a manner that references digital and/or non-linear methods of image creation. The finished artwork is, despite its spontaneous appearance, a hybrid of painting and collage that has been realized slowly over time through much consideration.
