Richard Peterson

A commercial photographer by trade, my roots in fine art photography run long and deep. I have learned to respond to my surroundings with an eye for unique subjects, composition, color and light. Growing up and living in the tropics of Hawaii I became attuned to the beauty of nature. Through the disciplines of commercial work, I became skilled at photo editing and image-optimization, giving me the skills I use today in the creation and printing on my fine art photography.

I received a BPA - Bachelor of Professional Arts degree in Illustration Photography from Brooks Institute of Photography. In the course of my career as a commercial photographer, I have ben a member of the ASMP (American Society of Media Photographers) which has afforded me continuing education in the artistic and technical aspects of photography.

The most recent exhibition I have been included in was a selection of work shown at the Blank Wall Gallery in Athens, Greece. The show theme was entitled "Changes" and I submitted works from a recent session of distressed sheet metal that presented as complex abstract art. I was honored to chosen from a worldwide call for entries.
