Richard Powell

Richard Powell paints contemporary pointillism paintings of iconic figures, and beautiful landscapes. Roy Lichtenstein, George Seurat, and Vincent Van Gogh, have all inspired Powell’s pointilism. In addition, Powell paints multiple layered dots to create larger compositions that are bold in color and subject.

Powell grew up with a large appreciation for fine art and went to school at The College of Creative Studies in Detroit. In addition, he graduated Magna Cum Laude and has become an award-winning painter and graphic designer. Powell has painted and experimented with mediums for thirty plus years. As a result, his pointillistic collection has developed into exciting portraits, landscapes, still life’s, and contemporary abstractions.

Powell has worked for years marketing and advertising companies and working with commercial art projects. In addition, he has designed, concepted, and created original artworks for thousands of graphic projects. Powell has a passion for design in his career and fine artworks. As a result, one can see his repetitive, high quality, patterns layered throughout his paintings.
