Adopting a 'less is more' philosophy, I sometimes trade my vibrant oils and acrylics for Indian ink, exploring the dynamic between space and form on white canvases. This minimalist approach highlights the essence of my work: the female form. As an artist, my journey has been largely guided by my own explorations and passions. While my formal education culminated in a degree in Theology from Durham University, it was my experiences living in Japan and Italy that profoundly shaped my artistic perspective. Immersed in these rich cultures, I was captivated by the vibrant reds, the play of light and shadow, and the intricate textures of fabrics that define their artistic heritage. Above all, it was the celebration of the feminine form — a theme that deeply resonates with my work — that left an indelible mark on my creative ethos. These experiences have not only influenced my palette and techniques but have also deepened my appreciation for the nuanced beauty of women, inspiring me to capture this essence in my art.
