Rocío Cuevas

Rocío Cuevas (León, 1989) is a visual artist in the field of contemporary photography. In her work she deals with aspects related to memory, identity and time.

Her research is situated on the thin line between fiction and reality, past and present, questioning the historical narrative and the image-document. The mixing of photographs, the alteration of archives and experimentation are fundamental features that mark the development of his projects.

Her work takes various forms, from photographic installations to publications.

Graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca, she studied for a year at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. There she began to specialize in photography as a form of artistic expression.Subsequently, she took a Master's degree in Contemporary, Technological and Performative Art at UPV-EHU, where she focused her research on visual archives that deal with concepts of time, identity and counter-narrative.
