Spain, 1965. Rosa Fuentes is an artist whose work focusses on painting, fresco, illustration and sculpture. Her approach comes from the abstract, through the figurative, using geometric figures and organic patterns of soft earth colours to create a poetic world of her own, while retaining a strong sense of composition that appeals to the viewer's sensitivity. She draws her inspiration from Chinese and Arabic traditions filtered through her European perspective. She studied Chinese calligraphy in the Fine Arts University of Zhejiang and has worked with traditional artists in Tangier. Rosa is a known fresco artist having studied and worked in Florence. She has designed sculptural awards for international events and prizes and has illustrated several books for Ellago Ediciones and for her own exhibitions. Rosa’s work has been exhibited in France, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, China and Switzerland and is held in private collections in Spain, Chine, Belgium, France, Italy, the USA and Ireland.
