Rosie is inspired by light and life, her work can be broadly split into two - the figure and the landscape, although fleeting encounters with a scene or scenario also generates work Rosie produces. Helicoidal pattern within composition connects a lot of her work -the spiraling form of the universe, DNA, shells, surf, clouds, can be found in most of her work.
Representation of the human form is an ongoing preoccupation - gender, the association of gender roles, femininity, sirens, has generated a large body of work in different media - drawing, ink, watercolour, and print.
Rosie's prolific - she has a large portfolio of work, a lot of it can be seen on her website
Rosie sold her first paintings when she was about 15 year old. She does not have a fine Art degree, like Picasso, however trained as an Archaeological site and find illustrator both as part of a degree in Archaeology and Sociology, and on site as an illustrator for the Hebrew University, Jerusalem in Israel. Rosie trained in Archaeological illustration, published drawings within the field, completing a degree in Archaeology and Sociology in the late 1990s. After qualifying to teach Art and Design, she went on to teach in many and various educational establishments. Rosie exhibits with a number of galleries across the UK, regularly participates in selected national and international open exhibitions; supplementing sales with teaching and running workshops and life drawing days. She is prolific and fruity, a magpie for collecting images. Her work is often concerned with water, skies, environmental musings, and depicting the human form, she is a printmaker and painter, an illustrator and writer – a maker, an arts worker. There is a dichotomy in style and intention between her landscape and figurative work. Rosie is prolific – she has a large portfolio of work, some of it can be seen on her website.
Rosie exhibits with a number of independent galleries across the UK.
