Sam Birt

I am a collage artist working with paper, magazines, and books to create abstract compositions that explore a wide range of themes, from architecture and nature to politics, beauty and the everyday. Though the act of cutting, tearing and layering, I bring together fragments of the world around us, transforming them into dynamic, thought-provoking pieces of art. My work plays with composition, colour, and light to evoke new perspectives, while engaging with the contrasts and connections between the natural and man-made, the mundane and the profound. Each collage invites the viewer to rediscover familiar elements and find meaning in the spaces between.
