Saro Di Bartolo

Fond of photography since I was a young boy, in 1969 I began to transform an inclination into a profession.

I collaborate with editors, tour operators, advertising, graphic-art, and marketing studios. My interest towards history, art and the world's different civilizations has led me to visit many countries, and take a considerable amount of pictures.

My articles and photographs have appeared on various publications and various institutions and companies, in the most different fields, have entrusted their promotional messages to my pictures.

EXPERIENCES

Among my most significant awards and experiences:

• United Airlines, the world's leading airline awards me with the Grand Prize at its "International Travel Photography Contest - 1993" (first out of 15.000 participants from all over the world).

• In 2015 one of my shots, taken in Myanmar-Burma, wins the Lonely Planet Travel Photography Prize.

• In 2010 the Italian National TV channel RAI3 dedicates an edition of its "Mediterraneo" program to my works.

• Awarded the 44th International "Silver Carnation" Prize in 2018, for achievements in the Art of Photography.

• In 2007 my pictures of ancient Greek and Roman theatres are selected for the prestigious book "Theatra", by Gruppo Bancario Capitalia.

• The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, awards me with the Special Environment Prize, on the occasion of the International Photography Contest to celebrating its 30th anniversary.

• World Wildlife Fund Photography Award winner 2001, "Poseidon, Culture and Environment Review"

• The Cd-Rom "Cultural Tourism in Emilia Romagna", of which I am the author, wins the First Prize at the 12th International Tourism Film and Cd-Rom Festival in Varese. A contest featuring the participation of 26 cou...
