About my art:


When I paint, I tell a story not with words but through graphic means.
The stories are sometimes very concise and exposed, and sometimes more complex, winding and hidden.
The ideas for the stories stem from memories of landscapes that have accumulated in me over the years.
Now, in front of the painting surface (canvas or wood), a dynamic process of the work itself begins.
Usually a very general idea seeks to emerge, then internal music, and concrete external music
(usually chamber music) guide the brush or spatula to create the painting itself.
I paint quickly and impulsively, applying color according to some internal pattern, then erasing and correcting highlighting or concealing.
The slow-drying oil paints allow me to make the changes on the surface itself.
A general characteristic of the works is the distant, "ecological" observation of the elements of the landscape and the person within it. The figures are tiny and simple, and the elements of the landscape are hinted at or abstracted.
I deliberately avoid characterizing concrete details in the landscape. Perspective usually does not interest me, and breaking conventions and patterns is an essential part of the works.
