Jakub Skokan (1985)
Jakub Skokan is a photographer. He graduated from the University of Tomas Bata in Zlin, the Department of Advertising Photography at the Faculty of Multimedia Communications. Jakub Skokan gravitates towards a journalistic approach combining its possibilities with staged forms of photography. He uses traditional photography as a tool for reconstructing events. His works portray staged sophisticated scenes recorded in their own time lines and modified contexts. He is a member and a co-founder of the Boysplaynice Studio and a member of MIMO, an association concentrating on pushing the limits of photography. He is also the founder of the Month of Visual Art -Fotomi and a curator of the Yellow Submarine Gallery in Znojmo, Czech republic.
