SOGALLO is a Nairobi-based urban artist, illustrator, conceptual photographer, and poet whose work explores themes of identity, introspection, and cultural reclamation. As a co-founder of the Afrorenaissance movement in 2017, he seeks to reshape the African narrative through powerful visual storytelling. His art is an ongoing dialogue between tradition and modernity, using both expressive watercolor paintings and intricate line art compositions to navigate the evolving African experience.
His work has been showcased in prestigious exhibitions, including the British Institute of East Africa, Alliance Française Nairobi, and Baobab Art Gallery in Juba, South Sudan. In 2019, his solo exhibition 100 Days of Watercolor was held at Lava Latte, Nairobi.
Through his art, SOGALLO invites viewers on a journey inward—an exploration of self, memory, and the unseen forces that shape identity.
