Sonja Anise

Sonja spent her youth forming her artistic identity through various programs and experiences. After attending New Mexico School for the Arts (2010-2013), she moved to Oregon and has been self-driven in building bodies of work and expanding their reach & scope. She is currently working to complete a Masters of Arts Education. Her work is best described as figurative expressionism, focusing on the intersection of physical and transcendent themes that create human perception. Focusing on the intersection of physical and transcendent themes that create human perception, impetus comes from Sonja's connection with dreams, visions and her attention to the subconscious, and she feels that art can be a significant channel to seeing beyond our physical limitations.
Sonja's primary medium is oil paint, although she also enjoys creating mixed-media, experimental drawings.
