I am an artist based in Osaka. I studied arts at the Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts Institute and Osaka University of the Arts. I draw inspiration from Ukiyo-E, Persian miniature and Ancient Egyptian art.
My artwork can be divided into three main thematic areas: “Running Figures”, “Scenes of Professional Activity”, “Surrounding City and Nature Scenery”
(1) “Running Figures” are illustrations of human aspirations for prosperity, goodness, improvements, development.
“Running Figures” are chasing birds (chasing dreams), diving into the ocean (discovering new), running away from tsunamis and tigers (leaving troubles behind), running against the wind and blizzards (overcoming difficulties).
“Running Figures” are schematic, decorative, simple in form and color, sacrifice aesthetics in favor of urge to move. They are intended to symbolize the active rather than the emotional side of human life. At the same time “Running Figures” are intended to cause sensation of running: heartbeat, the fresh air, the strength of the muscles, the joy of life. Therefor “Running Figures” serve two functions: 1) remind of aspirations, 2) give energy and inspire to move towards the goal.
(2) “Scenes of Professional Activity”
