Stephanie is an interdisciplinary artist mainly working in painting and installation, with a background in theatre and film production. Through her work she creates imaginary worlds that are inspired by individuals, objects, and events; transformed and reinvented through the act of painting, narratives, and colour. She is fascinated by the tension between fanstasy and realism, and uses colour as her main tool for this exploration. Stephanie creates dream-like environments that explore notions of identity, memory, and transformation-- represented through a dis-located and invented nature. These ideas are expressed through a visual vocabulary that constantly fluctuates between abstraction and realism; always seeking the treshold between inner and outer realities. Her main intention with her work is to provide the viewer with altered perceptions and whimsical reinterpretations of the ordinary.
