Marta Stysiak

Marta Stysiak is a Polish photographer and cinematographer graduated from the National Film School In Łódź. She's the author of photographic projects and photographs of a filmic backdrop and social issues. She's also the author of photography for documentaries, reportages, short features, video art and experimental videos. Her photographs were published inter alia; Le journal de la Photogrphie, Dailyserving, GUP magazine and are in private collections. Stysiak is the recipient of the Polish Contemporary Art Award TIDE. Young Polish Contemporary Art 2016.

In my artistic practice I draw ideas from the surroundings and focus on individuals and their stories in the belief that everyone has their own unique story which in a poetic way transcends the understanding of life in general. I use the medium of photography as a tool of research and exploration. I very much rely on people I truly know or love as well as places which allure me with mood, light or with no apparent reasons.
