Suzie Robinson

I was born in Flensburg, Germany and raised in Denmark during the Second World War. I currently live in Panama City, Florida.
My work has been influenced by the post war abstract expressionist movement. I prefer to work in acrylics because it dries quickly allowing me to layer color on color and to build textures on the canvas. I use bright, bold colors to reflect my joy of living. The intent of my work is for the viewer to experience happiness and the joy of life as I do.

Plans to go to art school were interrupted by the war in Europe. I began painting again when I was 70 after spending many years in fashion and fashion retail.
I fell in love with bright, bold bursts of color. My work reflects an appreciation of the natural world and what's real. As a unique technique, I blend sand with paint to build texture onto the canvas. I am self-taught.
