Theresa Tindall

While interacting with colour, depth, contrast and energy, revelations unfold, sometimes during but always upon completion of my paintings. Influences are ever changing, incorporating travels, cultural influences, religions, technology, lighting, education, conversations and the spontaneity of nature. My endless curiosity weaves throughout. Colour excites me while the various mediums propel me to reveal a dynamic power and inspiration. Connecting with my paintings can be like an energetic meditation that inspires and relaxes. Capturing light, energy and essence creates a lively dance throughout the compositions.

My education began with influences from my mother who created landscapes in oil. She was taught by the nuns in Quebec. While working in a Design and Photography studio in Vancouver, I decided to dive in and study design and started at Emily Carr College of Art & Design. I continued my studies full time at George Brown College in Toronto, and was drawn to Advertising all the while using fine art as my base. After graduating I continued studying at OCAD while illustrating and conceptualizing in Advertising. Eventually I moved into Film and Television while studying at Humber College and UofT.

My next show coming up in August and September will be at the Neilson Park Creative Center.
