Art and art making should available to the masses. One should not feel the need to be allowed  to view a work of art. If they do not understand or know the vocabulary, say in abstraction, one should be able enjoy or dislike a shape,colour,space in a composition simply for what it is with out feeling the urgency to gain permission or licence to understand it. Art is simple and can be complex. EVERYONE IS ALLOWED TO VIEW IT AND HAVE AN OPINION.
It is about creating a shift in your view or evoke feelings, good or bad ugly or beautiful.
It is true there are rules and perimeters for making and understanding art better,  
The elements and principles of design...
But once you have a basic idea of those 

you CAN break them all.

People ask what do you paint,create?
I feel as though a good artist creates prolifically in multiple disciplines and styles.Paper, pen,canvas,clay,through the lens of a camera.grasping an understanding of everything.
Like the leaves or fruit of a tree,reaching up and out BUT also in full spectrum the roots stretching deep and wide,constantly looking for more.
Like that of the mind of child, unobstructed and open.
As an artist I can create, and make something and get comfortable in a style but to grow...
