"I like to capture reality in the same way a dream does, my work is of things which I make beautiful, sometimes, only for a short period then they change. My goal is to show the truth about life and our limitations, but to also celebrate how precious it is.
For me destruction is a form of creation, and creation is a form of birth, I often work with the self, looking at what it means to be. I work very laterally with my materials and thought processes, being quite spontaneous about the objects I use, which creates excitement. I frequently find myself in skips and old buildings a lot, mixing pristine things with the old or the tattered, sometimes it's the space which works as the opposite, but I see that as being apart of the art.
I was taught how to layer colour within painting, I feel that my work comes under the bracket of almost architecture or even collage. I've always been interested in what I can interact with; within a three dimensional space, installation and architecture allow me to do this.
What strives me the most to create is how as an artist, I can take the ordinary and make it unreal. I tend to know the art is finished when I hit this point, in a way the situation or happening defines what I use".
