Tristram Lansdowne

I am a New York based Canadian artist. My work is focused on themes related to the histories of landscape and architecture, particularly utopian trends and modernist architecture. I work in painting, installation and print. I received an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2016.
My current work is based in the history of illusionistic space, particularly perspectival space, in relation to the development of Modernist architecture. This is partly driven by a desire to reconsider the Modernist narrative of form and function in order to meditate on the relations between visual artifice, idealism, and notions of value and taste.
