Kriti is a self-taught artist. Her art actively seeks to engage people in examining important issues. She explores similes and abstract art to grab attention to the alternate perspectives of the existing situation. She sees her art as a medium to stir conventional thoughts and encourage positive dialogue among different segments of society. She derives her inspiration from her day-to-day conversations and experiences with people and conveys their stories in the form of a painting. From the lens of a development practitioner, she frequently explores the issues of society such as gender equity, human rights, disabilities, aging, etc. When she is not an artist she is a global public health professional who happens to be graduated from Columbia SIPA in NYC.
Kriti works are displayed mainly in 2 mediums Acrylic and Molten Wax.
Kriti was born in India. After undergrad in Engineering from India. She worked across India and traveled across 20+ states and UT. She moved to the USA for her MPA at Columbia University (SIPA) NYC. Her journey as an encaustic artist started in early 2015, and then she began with her exploration of Acrylic around the same time. Although she has no formal training from any university, she attended courses at MOMA NYC and is mentored by other artists.
