Tom credits his mother for his early interest in art, and his artistic talent. She encouraged his interest and fostered his growing skills by enrolling him in summer art classes. Ending up in California, raising a family, with a career in aerospace, Tom put his artistic skills "on the shelf". Since retiring, Tom has jumped back into the artistic world, exhibiting his work at three galleries in Minnesota, and one in Wisconsin, and two in Arizona. Saxe's work can't be categorized into a single genre, but migrates between three areas, photo realism, impressionism and abstract. Landscapes, still-life, and figurative scenes dominate his recent work, with an occasional abstract. Saxe studied Business Administration and Art at Dominican College in Wisconsin, and UCLA and has a BS degree. Since moving to the Phoenix area, his work can be seen at the Angelica Gallery in Phoenix, and at the Sundust Gallery in Mesa. Tom's website is
