The ephemeral is what draws me to my art practice and nature is my greatest source.
I have been recording the transience of the natural world for over 25 years now, whether through the fragility of a wind-blown flower or the striking elegance of a bird in flight, or the raw beauty of a quiet landscape. All this has nurtured my imagination and intensified my respect for all things connected to place.
Clouds have been such a familiar and evocative element to shaping the work I do. Staring into the clouds is such a poetic, vivid and dramatic affair for me, often stirring the imagination to a point of blissfully getting lost in the moment.
Our relationship with this natural phenomenon maybe more complex than first imagined.
A meditation on human faith and experience, they mirror our vulnerabilities and strengths, our playful fantasies and testing realities, our loves and our losses, our spirit and transcendence, our hopes and our dreams, they reveal the uncertain and absolute.
It is in the state of becoming aware that this miracle exists or not.
I also work in abstraction as a counter discipline to the atmospheric works.
